Richmond Festival of Music
James Wilson, Artisic Director Dear Friends,
Welcome to The Richmond Festival of Music, flagship event of the Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia.

Formed in 2004, ours is a growing organization dedicated to presenting unusual classical music events in unique venues throughout the historic metropolitan Richmond area. Over the past years, we have presented music ranging from Baroque opera to electronic music, and we pride ourselves on our eclectic and exciting concert programming. The world-class performers who play side-by-side in our concerts include some of the top musicians in the country, younger artists just establishing their international careers, and favorite musicians from the Richmond region.

Through our educational program, called "The Ear Project," we also present free concerts for families, students, seniors, hospital patients, and a wide range of other Virginians. Because of our dedication to excellence in performance, and our commitment to the cities of this region and their citizens, we were awarded a 2005 "CAREC" Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

I invite you to attend one or all of our events, become a Member of our Society, or volunteer your time and talents. I'm certain you will enjoy the experience.

Most Sincerely,
James Wilson

Artistic Director/ The Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia
